  This is a washed coffee which has been fermented in a limited oxygen environment, elevating its tactile to silky and soft. As the Gesha offering of the Advent Calendar, this coffee lives at the great intersection of elevated comfort. With notes of white flower and cane sugar, this coffee is crisp, clean, and floral.

  This is my first Gesha, and it was interesting coffee to say the least. Its $42 price tag makes sense for texture alone, as it was by far the most exceptionally elegent and silky coffee I have ever tried.

  Objectively, it was an apt pinnacle of the Onyx Advent experience given its uniqueness, quality, and that few would invest in something so pricey for a 10oz bag.

  Subjectively though, I didn't care for the flavor at all. Trying to research what "White Flower" even meant sent me to pretentious wine blogs with characterizations such as "the universe of fragrant white flowers contains an amazing array of enchanting scents — tuberose, jasmine, acacia, gardenia, orange blossom, and lilly of the valley are just a few sources of these aromas, whose dynamic range spans angelic delicacy and raw, powerful sexuality...their presence...can transport us into vast landscapes of fantasy and memory".

  "Crisp, clean, and floral" was ironically accurate, because most of what I tasted was dryer sheet, dryer sheet with a hint of blueberry. My fantasies personally don't involve a trip to the laundromat, but I'm sure somebody is into it.

  Update: Made my second cup with a bit finer grind and stronger brew ratio. It improved the experience a bit, accentuating the fruitiness more, but I still found it unpleasant. I'm going to have to rank this last in the entire advent, despite being a good coffee.

  I'm really enjoying this coffee very smooth and I love the blueberry flavor. I get no florals but it's sweet as advertised. After a string of letdowns this is a major win

  Such a lovely smooth way to end this advent calendar. I've had gesha before and it's always top notch but this was a nice one to brew at home. Nice and floral with a nice hint of fruit. Truly enjoyed this one.
