Producer Spotlight
Over the last few seasons, both Pepe and his son Jose have started a new venture in a new region which they have named Putushio. This high elevation farm is cultivating Typica Mejorado, which has yielded clean and refined cup profiles that are altogether different from what we have seen at Soledad. When describing planting the farm, Jose talks about how different and difficult planting was there- his hands became severely calloused as he tried to break the dry and hard ground to plant the coffee. He quickly resorted to a breaker bar and hard work to plant these trees, which have since yielded great results in the cup.
