American AeroPress Championship
Calling all AeroPress competitors across the nation! Onyx Coffee Lab will be hosting the American AeroPress Championship on November 2nd & 3rd at our HQ in Rogers, AR! The winner of the American AeroPress Championship will win a trip to represent the USA at the World AeroPress Championship in Melbourne, Australia December 1–3.
Thursday November 2nd, we invite the public to come to Onyx Coffee Lab at in Rogers, AR! If you’d like a chance to win, come prepared with your best AeroPress recipe! We will draw 12 names at random, and those chosen will get a chance to compete for 3 spots in the national competition which will take place at Onyx in Rogers on Friday November 3rd! Competition will be 3 rounds of 4 competitors chosen at random, and the winner from each group will get to compete on Friday! Contestants will have 5 minutes to brew and present their AeroPress beverages to the panel of judges. We’ll also be hosting a latte art throw down Thursday the 2nd! So come show us your skills! Signups for the latte art competition will begin at 6pm, and the latte art competition will begin at 7pm Thursday the 2nd.
On Friday November 3rd, the NE Regional Winner will be coming in from Michigan to compete alongside the 26 paid entrants, and the 3 lottery winners from Thursday’s competition to see who will represent the US in the World AeroPress Championship title in Melbourne, Australia! On Friday November 3rd there will be three rounds of competition. In each round, the contestants will have 5 minutes to brew and present their AeroPress beverage to the panel of judges. The 30 contestants will compete in a preliminary round of 10 groups of 3 chosen at random. In the semi-finals, the winner from each group will then compete again in 2 groups of 3 and one group of 4 where the winner of each group will move to the finals. In the final round, the final 3 amazing contestants will compete to see who is awarded the American AeroPress Championship, and the expenses-paid trip to compete for the World title in Melbourne, Australia!
Onyx HQ in Rogers and viewing the competition November 2 & 3 will be open for the general public! Even if you're not going to compete, come cheer on our contestants and experience Onyx in the beautiful setting of downtown Rogers!
