Yes! You can absolutely purchase these as gifts and send them to your friends and family. However, we are unable to split one order across multiple addresses. So you will need to make a new order for each address you’d like to ship to.
We will begin shipping Advent Calendars starting November 17th.
If you check out with more than the Advent Calendar we will automatically split your order and ship out any non Advent products immediately. Once the ship date for the Advent Calendar arrives we will ship your calendar in its own shipment.
Each day has 2oz of coffee beans, which will produce roughly 24oz of brewed coffee for you to enjoy.
We have purposefully roasted each offering on a schedule that goes with the advent order to allow at least 28 days of off-gassing before consuming. This should allow enough rest in the coffee to allow free carbon dioxide to leave the pores of the coffee creating even particle size when grinding and therefore a great extraction. The bag will have some oxygen inside, but not enough or time contact to oxidize. All the coffees used are fresh crop harvests so they should be peaking as you consume. Farm info, transparency, roast profile, Agtron and other detailed roasting data is available online if you want to deep dive. In short though, terroir, process and variety will come through the cup at the right time showcasing the complexity of each offering and why it was chosen by our roasting team for the box.
For best results:
-Be sure to clean equipment before each coffee.
-Grind right before use. Burr grinders preferred.
-Rinse filter first.
-Water/mineral profiles such as third wave water or Lotus water are recommended but not needed.
-Follow general brew/espresso guides for coffee.
-Let coffee cool to optimal drink temp 135-145°F
There are many offerings in the Advent Calendar that are Advent exclusives. However, if we have one in stock as a normal offering it will be dictated in the info section of that day on this page when it is available.
>Yes. If you change your mind you are welcome to cancel ahead of the shipment date. However, due to the high volume of orders, once a shipping label is printed we will be unable to cancel your order. Ahead of that date email us at info@onyxcoffeelab.com and we will get your order canceled and refunded.
Unfortunately, we are not able to grind the individual bags of coffee included in our Advent Calendar. If you are in need of a grinder check out our equipment page here.
